We have made it possible for your internal ionMy administrators to set additional password rules specific to your organisations requirements. Our current default password rules still apply and cannot be amended by your team, but there are now additional rules you can set.

All login rules have been moved to a new tab at Settings > System Settings > Login Settings. This tab has been disabled by default. Your internal ionMy Administrator will first need to enable this tab for the appropriate user groups at Settings > Menu > Settings > System Settings prior to being able to set your organisation specific login rules.

...

Once this is complete, you can then make changes to the login settings where the list of tick boxes are:

  • username is not allowed in any part of your password (existing ionMy setting, ticked as default, read only)

  • password must be at least <numeric textbox with 8 as default> characters (existing ionMy setting, ticked as default, read only)

  • password must include uppercase (existing ionMy setting, ticked as default, read only)

  • password must include lowercase (existing ionMy setting, ticked as default, read only)

  • password must include numeric (existing ionMy setting, ticked as default, read only)

  • password must include special character (NEW)

  • password expired after <numeric textbox with 0 as default> <dropdownlist days/months/years> (NEW)

  • password cannot be reused (NEW)

  • force change password on login (moved from system setting tab)

  • enable lock (moved from system setting tab)

The 3 new boxes, plus those that have moved from the system settings tab, are for your organisation to manage as you need.
